I don't get to play this very often but I love it

I got the opportunity late last week to compose a short piece of music for a youtube channel "Cinephiles" run by my mates Michael and Robert. The thing is....

They wanted a jazz piece reminiscent of the big band swing era of jazz.

Now, its really no secret that I'm a rock guy at heart but having said that, I love jazz. The improvisation, the hot melodies, the tricky chords, what's not too love? The Question was after being away from jazz music for a while, could I play it and could I put something together without a big brass band behind me?

All these thoughts racing through my mind and I had only been offered the job 10 seconds ago!

I decided to say yes to the job. I wrote the melody and the chords while I was changing my guitar strings that afternoon. I realized I needed an excellent bass player to pull off a groovy walking bassline. Who better than to bring my old friend Ray Kostianen. He won't admit it, but I'm pretty sure he recorded this in 1 take ;)

Check it out below. The track is called "Cinejazz"
